The provincial government executive meeting held yesterday put forward 11 requirements aimed at stabilizing pork prices, ensuring food safety, and increasing support for animal husbandry.
According to the Provincial Department of Commerce, since June last year, the purchase price of live pigs in our province has continued to rise. After May this year, the upward trend accelerated. At the end of June, the purchase price of live pigs was 20 yuan/kg, a year-on-year increase of over 100%. The price of pork has also been rising, with a wholesale price of 26.52 yuan/kg in June, a year-on-year increase of over 100%, and a 42.96% increase compared to January this year.
Due to the continuous rise in meat prices, market sales have been declining recently. On July 1st, the trading volume of wholesale markets in the province decreased by 36.86% compared to the previous week (June 17th).
Regarding the continuous rise in meat prices, yesterday's meeting put forward 11 demands to stabilize pork prices. Zhao Zhengyong said that pig farmers are also anxious about the large-scale fluctuations in pork prices. They also hope for market stability and do not want prices to fluctuate greatly
It is reported that in the second half of 2007, the government introduced some policies to support pig production, but some policies have not been implemented until now. We cannot forget the farmers as soon as the situation improves, "Zhao Zhengyong warned officials at all levels.
This time, support for production will be carried out from increasing insurance, assisting enterprises with loans, monitoring feed prices and quality, and other aspects. Financial institutions need to study loan support for pig farming, "Zhao Zhengyong said, and allocate a certain amount of funds for interest subsidies.
Due to the rise in feed prices, some farmers have reported that "pigs eat more expensive than humans", and Zhao Zhengyong has demanded strict monitoring of the price and quality of feed.
At present, logistics costs account for a considerable proportion of pork prices, so "expired highway toll stations should be abolished to reduce highway tolls." Zhao Zhengyong emphasized that it is necessary to effectively reduce circulation costs.
In response to the recent food safety issues, Zhao Zhengyong demands a strict crackdown in accordance with the law, stating that "food safety issues cannot damage the credibility of the government.
